Hi, I’m Harry and I live in the UK. I’ve been interested in home automation as long as I can remember, but my interest was really fired up when I started watching Sci-Fi programmes such as Star Trek: The Next Generation and even Buck Rodgers! I really wanted to live in this futuristic place where you could press a button or speak a command, and the computer takes over and your wish is taken care of!
I have spent a few years trying to achieve a really usable ‘smart home’ and feel that now is the time to share my findings. I also have the added challenge that I have a regular guest in the form of our good friend and ‘head housekeeper’ so like may aficionados have to make the home control system ‘user friendly’.

Hi Harry congratulations on producing such a usefull and informative website. I am new to Home Automation and have never used Domoticz before but you have convinced me to try it. Your system is excellent and very well thought out, you should be very proud of it. I have been refering back to your site as a learning resource since I found it last week, Keep up the good work.
